The club's packed, tonight, and according to what Rin says this is not a normal occurrence. Something special seems to have lured such a vast crowd of men and women into drinking and dancing here, among some loud chatter and clunks of heavy glasses, shouts, and monotone music rattling into all of their chests as if it was originating from all of their ribcages. The place is loud, uncomfortable, there are thick smells and Rei's eyes squint as he attempts to capture every detail of the moves in the middle of the stage.
There's a dancer up on it, a youthful cheeky boy with neon pink eyes and golden curls bouncing around, a charm as intoxicating as that cloud of smoke making a hat on their heads.
The dim lights slide down his tight leather pants while the pole rubs between his thighs, up and down slowly, timed with the regular pulse of music that throbs inside of Rei's veins. His body seems to be only wrapped with as much leather as necessary to not incur into a lawsuit for indecent exposure for the club, yet most parts of it take turn in hiding into the purposeful darkness that the stroboscopic lights cannot seem to slay.

Rei hadn't even really agreed to coming to this place: college sucked every moment of his day, anxiety and a strong desire to excel and learn scraped at every available second in his day; however his mother had affectiously warned him that spending all of his day with his nose diving through book pages would eventually ruin his social life, before his departure. So, what the hell, might as well have a night out with roommates to allow himself some distraction. He planned to drink, because everyone else was going to, maybe to strike up casual conversation with some random stranger, then go straight back to the small apartment he lives in and go to bed right away.
What he had not expected was that now his nose wants to dive in the crook of that boy's slender, pale neck instead, inhale the scent and learn what his skin would smell like. Probably sweat, mixed up with a strong, dizzying perfume. His eyes haven't stopped following each sway of the dancer's hips, as the backlight rolls sweetly and caresses the soft lines of his, hiding his face from inspection. The halo of fluffy hair around his head turns green, red, blue, white, purple with each beat, and then those colors grab at his forms, fondle at him, until finally his body twirls around the pole in gracious circles, his torso arching as the top of his body stretches back and towards the floor, as his thighs hold on tight crossed around the long shaft.
That's the end of his routine, and he does not even seem to wait for some howling or whistles or an applause: he climbs down the pole, with a hidden soft flush to his cheeks while tip-toeing out of stage. Like the freedom expressed by each single sinuous move when the music was playing had been nothing but an illusion.
Rei's eyes stalk him until he's out of sight, his ears ignoring the chatter from his friends, and a low burning makes itself known in his bowels, mild but insistent.
"...liked that, huh, Rei?" A voice next to him yells, among some laughter, and finally Rei's eyes move from their point of fixation where the dancer disappeared.
"Huh?" He snaps, stupidly.
"I said: it really seems you liked that," his friend, Rin, teases him while elbowing his side.
"It was not bad," Rei answers, yelling just as loud to make himself heard.
"Not bad? You were basically stripping him naked!" Rin keeps taunting him, and then grins. "Wanna meet him?"
"What?!" Rei sputters, turning his whole body around towards his friend.
Rin's smirk stretches wider, looking almost malicious, and opens his mouth before looking around annoyed at the voices that seem to drown out any attempt at having a conversation.
"Come with me," he says, grabbing firmly at Rei's forearm while the other's eyes go wide with surprise.
"Wait, Rin-senpai..."
It seems a bit too late to stop him now. Just a bit.
"I'm friends with a security guy in this place," Rin finally explains, once they're a bit farther from the stage, and he glares at their other friends gesticulating from their table for the two of them to go back and drink some more. "He can set you up with Nagisa, since he's been desperate for a boyfriend."
"Wait, what? Rin-senpai, what makes you think I want a boyfriend?" Rei screeches, turning all red in the face and trying to resist to the pull of Rin's hands. The two of them are almost the same size, and yet Rei's body still lets itself get dragged away. "Let me think about it!"
Rin's crimson eyes roll while his head turns back towards Rei, a perfect expression of the typical sentence: 'Oh, please."
"What's there to think about? You've been spending every day on those damn books and if I'm not mistaken you haven't dated anyone the whole time I've been knowing you. Get out there! Meet people! And God, you could also end up relieving whatever tension you have. You'd be less of a square," he replies, pushing on the panic handled door with a notice that says: 'STAFF MEMBERS ONLY'.
"Rin-senpai, we really shouldn't–" Rei squeaks, eyes going wide.
"Rei, relax," Rin says, calmer than expected, and when he turns around to Rei's flushing face, he's grinning. The lights in the hall they walk through look a lot paler, albeit brighter, than the dim light - or better yet, almost complete darkness - of the club's area for the public.
"Yo, Sousuke!" Rin barks, and his hand tightens around Rei's arm. The other looks ahead, spotting a huge lean man as he chatters with the blond, tiny dancer. Somehow, he seemed taller on the stage. Sousuke and Nagisa turn to look at Rin and Rei, the first with a wary look that must be some sort of habit, and the other with a tired smile.
"Rin-chan!" Nagisa chirps, twirling a cigarette between his fingers. "What's up?"
And then, as soon as he spots Rei: "hey, who's this? I'm Nagisa!" He adds, trotting towards Rei with his magenta eyes glittering in some sort of friendly excitement.
Rei's head tilts back, in surprise for the closeness of the other's face.
"Rei," he replies, almost dry, but unable to control the rosy tint his cheeks flare up with.
"Rei-chan! Are you Rin-chan's friend?"
"Um," Rei responds, somehow unable to look into the young man's eyes while his cheeks heat up again. "Yes, I suppose that can be said," he hums, stabbing Rin with a glare as his friend smirks.
"Is this your virgin friend?" Sousuke asks Rin, causing a variety of reactions, ranging from Rin's loud cackle to Nagisa's shocked - and, apparently, delighted - squeal, and Rei's sputters and protests.
"I am not a virgin!" He almost shrieks, angered even further by Rin's blatant pretense to be sorry.
"That is so mean, Sou-chan!" Nagisa adds, crossing his arms with a pout.
"Alright, alright, sorry," Sousuke replies, raising his hands.
"Anyway, yeah, that's him," Rin says, eyeing Rei with an affectionate wink. "I was just teasing."
Before he's done speaking, Nagisa's thin fingers grab at Rei's wrist, and before the latter manages to look at him, he turns around pulling towards his room.
"Don't pay attention to what Sou-chan says, he's good even though sometimes he does... that," he mutters, still sounding upset. Which is odd, considering that if someone should be offended, that would be Rei. But he blinks, surprised, and he mumbles, "it's okay. I mean, I don't care much for others calling me a virgin."
"Like there was anything wrong with that, anyway!" Nagisa adds, waving his hand around, but then he slams the door of his room open, and as soon as it's closed behind them his lips curve in a soft smile.
"Did you like my show?" He asks, low, before turning around to look at Rei with a sickeningly sweet look.
Rei's eyes fall down the other's body again, finally noticing how it's a lot more covered than it was on stage.
"It was... interesting. I've never really been someone to go around places like this."
"Really? Weren't you grossed out?" Nagisa continues, finally grabbing a lighter to turn his cigarette on. Rei's nose scrunches with disapproval at smoking in a closed room, but then again he spent the last hour in a hall filled with smokers, so he'll most likely be able to deal. Especially since that's an excuse for his eyes to focus on the blond dancer's plump lips wrapping around the filter and sucking-
"Why should I have been?" Rei finally replies, tearing his gaze away from Nagisa's mouth. "You're... good at your job."
"Well, most men end up leaving before my routine's over, generally the girls like it more. Do you swing that way?" Nagisa asks, his eyes attentive.
"I... don't know," Rei replies, after a couple of pensive seconds.
Nagisa's only reaction is a hum.
"Do you need help figuring it out?" He asks, then, with his eyelashes fluttering and the same sweet smile, before flashing Rei a wink.
Rei's cheeks immediately take a darker shade, before his breath pauses in his lungs and, finally, he gives Nagisa's face and body another look. Nagisa stands there, breathing smoke out quietly and letting himself be looked at.
Clearly, there's a proposal hanging here.
"I need to go home and study," Rei finally retorts, taking a step back.
Nagisa's lips form an 'o' even without the filter between them, and finally shrugs slightly with a sigh.
"Maybe we could get a couple of drinks and I could crack a few jokes for you, instead," he insists, once again picking up Rei's hand and playing gently with his fingers. "I'm always so lonely when I finish my routine..." He mutters, once again with a little, melancholic pout as he looks down at Rei's big hand.
"That's... very tempting," Rei starts, slowly, with a look of fascination to their hands touching as if they weren't complete strangers and that kind of contact was not odd if not a bit inappropriate.
"So is it a yes?" Nagisa chirps up again, pointing his big cherry eyes up into Rei's purple ones.
"I..."
Rei's chest tightens, under the pressure. On one hand, his books are at the apartment, criminally closed. On the other, Nagisa's hand feels delicate and gentle, despite the looks of his otherwise energetic, explosive everything.
"I'd really like it if you hung out with me a bit. I want a bit of company, and you look very beautiful," Nagisa insists, with a low and soft voice, as he moves closer and holds Rei's hand between both of his own.
Beautiful.
Rei's throat clenches around a gulp. The heat in his cheeks almost feels like subsiding, but not for a lack of blood rushing hot towards his face - it's been burning the whole time.
"–Alright," Rei finally agrees, while his heart thrums faster in his chest and echoes in his ears.
Nagisa's smile widens, and he nods ruffling his own air with excitement, hopping on his feet a couple times.
"Yay~"
"But... I should go to bed at a reasonable time," Rei continues, in spite of the slow dumb smile that's spreading on his face. Despite the complete absurdity of this entire situation. As if people could really meet and become close within minutes. This dancer sounds crazy.
And, as he follows Nagisa back into the dark club among the patrons for a bit of harmless fun, drinks and Nagisa chattering away about whatever, the thought of his books fades in the background.
"Hey, so how's it going?" Rin's voice stabs through the conversation, and Nagisa beams at him.
"Rei-chan is so smart! He knows a lot of things," he coos, satisfied when Rei's face flushes pink.
"I'm just telling him about my research paper," he says, with a shrug.
"I didn't get anything about it, but it sounds cool," Nagisa adds, with a giggle.
Rei's lips purse in a disappointed pout, but then Nagisa says, "nevermind, go on. And you! Shoo, Rin-chan!"
His hands push at Rin's chest, and the other raises his hands with an amused smirk.
"Okay, okay. I'll be with Sousuke at the bar," Rin says, sauntering away immediately and almost in a rush.
Nagisa's eyes turn back on Rei, languid as he leans forward looking down at Rei's lips.
"You were saying...?"

What Rei gathers from the conversation is: a) Nagisa is insanely curious; b) conversely, he refused to offer as many informations about himself, limiting himself to switch topics the moment he seemed to become uncomfortable with revealing too much. Which really became apparent given Rei's more than decent observation skills, not due to Nagisa letting himself slip. Which is a skill that comes with experience.
The moment Rin and Rei finally leave to go back to their flat, the city preparing to calm down for the night and the colder air brushing against Rei's face, the former begins badgering Rei for details like a paparazzi, but Rei looks ahead, lightly dizzy with alcohol and a smile that appears in flashes before his eyes.
"So, do you like him?"
"Yeah, he's alright," Rei says, vague, shoving his hands in the pockets of his coat.
He expects Rin to insist and tease, but he only receives a hum and another gentle question.
"Do you want to see him again?"
Rei looks ahead to the bright lights on the street, the small groups of young people joking, smoking, kissing trying to not be seen, and eventually he gives a light shrug. It was a good evening, definitely better than expected. There would be nothing good in denying that.
"Yeah... why not?"
"Alright," Rin nods, with a little cheerful twitch of his lips.
